18” of fine cotton edging, ¼” – 3/8”
4” 4mm white ribbon, for straps
2mm or 4mm pink bow
8 ½” X 11” - ivory silk broadcloth for dress
(Or fabric of choice)
8 ½” X 11” – matching China silk for lining
6” 7mm silk ribbon to match above, for tie
24” black chenille, either tiny or small will work
1 yard hat straw, mine was white
2” square of velvet, for hat brim
4” black 2mm ribbon for brim edge
(Or use 7mm black ribbon)
Small bundle of black feathers for hat
22 pearl half buttons or more if you use smaller ones
1” X 1” black for purse
(Mine is of snake skin)
The latch is a lock for a trunk
Size 12 Perle cotton for cording on spats
These amounts are quite sufficient to complete the project. If you make a test pattern first, you might be able to use less. Also, your fabric doesn’t have to be 81/2 by 11. It could be 4 ½” by 16” or whatever you have. If you purchase new, it might be easier to by the 1/8 yard, or a fat eighth.
